Arbets- och organisationspsykologi

Arbets- och organisationspsykologin studerar individers arbetsrelaterade upplevelser, erfarenheter, reaktioner och handlingar i förhållande till arbetets innehåll och organisering, individuella förutsättningar samt de sätt på vilka individerna ingår i och/eller interagerar med grupper och organisationer. I studier ingår betydelsen av fysiska och psykosociala arbetsmiljöfaktorers betydelse dels för motivation och prestation, dels för yrkesmässig utveckling, hälsa och välbefinnande. Vidare studeras samspel mellan individ, grupp och organisation under olika organisatoriska betingelser inklusive organisationers och individers ömsesidiga val och preferenser. Vanligtvis avses lönearbete, men psykologiska aspekter av såväl oavlönat arbete (t.ex. i hemmet, i ideella organisationer) som gräns snittet mellan arbete och övrigt liv är föremål för analys, liksom psykologiska aspekter på ofrivillig arbetslöshet. I avgränsningen mot andra "arbetsvetenskaper" är individperspektivet särskilt utmärkande för arbets- och organisationspsykologin.
