University studies

Lectures and seminars are two of several tools at your disposal to help you understand the content of the literature and to broaden your views towards a more applied knowledge.

Educational system facts in brief

Here you will find a brief synopsis of the main features of the Bologna reforms, implemented as of 1 July 2007, and how they affect Stockholm University.

Examination and grades

The examination of course content can be done in the form of written tests, group work, lab reports etc. This is specified in the syllabus for each course module.

On most modules covering 7.5 credits the compulsory literature rate between 600 and 800 pages. Often more than half of these are in English.

Study participation

All university education is scientifically based. It is therefore essential that the students get some awareness of the process that generates new scientific knowledge in the subject. This is done by the students participating in some of the studies offered. Requirements for participation can be found in the course curriculum.

Teaching is given in many different ways depending on the course content and the will to facilitate the learning of people with different learning styles.
